Getting married in Portugal in September (groom-to-be here!). A couple of questions regarding the paper work.
1. We thought we had to get a certificate of no impediment. Most internet sites including this one tell us we do, but our planner seems to think this is no longer required. The UK registry office of Custom Video Production also hinted (yep, they wouldn't commit any further than a hint!) that it's no longer required. So I wondered if anybody on here had got recently married or is in the process of doing so and what their findings on this subject were?
2. More complex one but here goes....I was adopted at 13 when my mother remarried. It seems to have thrown the whole paperwork thing into confusion. If anybody has been in the same predicament then please shed some light on which documents you had to produce! Short or Full birth certificate? In old or new name? Copy of adoption court papers?! All very confusing!!
Many thanks in advance for any help.
